next stop was a visit to Custom World and a whiz-bang body work hombre
named Chester.
Dale told Chester that he wanted only two things: a blue shade of some
Wal-Mart bath towels he'd seen (and bought for samples) and ribbons.
"I'd tried three different paint shops, looking for the right base color
match, but no-go", Dale says. "Chester took the towel, grabbed a cup,
went over to the paintmixer, and next thing you know, there it was."
As for the ribbon request, Dale recalls, "Chester looked at me kinda
weird, but I told him that back in the seventies there were a lot of
ribbons on older choppers. He came up with this design here, and I let
him run with it."..... |
